Fronted by the cult British actress Eileen Daly, “Eileen Daly and The Courtesans” now “The Courtesans” are a gypsy, glam, rock and roll band from London.

The story started in 2005 when Eileen and Ben Thirkettle started writing and plotting together, with the aim of world domination in the space of 3 weeks. It took a little longer but, in the winter of 2008, after 3 years spent developing their style Eileen and Ben finally found the right musicians to complete the band. “Eileen Daly and The Courtesans” were born.

Unaligned with passing stylistic fads, the band draws from of a wealth of musical influences; the spikey waltz in “Doll”, tango and gypsy rhythms in “Mazeltof”, garage trash in “Webcam Girl” and sleazy swing in “Peckham Rolex”. Add to that echoes of Morricone, English psychedelia and psycho- country waltz, and you'll have some idea of what they're up to.
