Based on a story by Wayne Kinsey Hammer films expert and author and a pathologist this follows the mental breakdown of a pathologist as he attempts to unravel the works of a serial killer whilst dealing with his own demons. This is a very thoughtful, atmospheric, affecting film. There are lots of layers to peel away. It has the usual shocks and starts, but it adds a rarely rich atmosphere and leaves you with much to think about. Nice to see a British film tackling a US-dominated genre. It moves at a good pace and develops the plot and characters well. The extras are are good too, with enthusiastic cast and crew adding extra insight.
